Who knew that our amazing EMS could Chicken Dance, pitch and serve ice cream?  Man what a talent!

I got to talk with our EMS volunteers, Mike  & John about the Miracle League.  Mike told me he decided to volunteer at the Miracle League because he wanted to give back to the community and he also enjoyed the great stories he heard from the other EMS who volunteered.  Then after that I talked to his partner, John, and he said the Miracle League players are skillful and very inspirational.  They really enjoyed their time at the Miracle League.

Thanks for volunteering and the ice cream guys!

Amherstburg Firefighters Volleyball Day
Amherstburg Firefighters Volleyball Day

On Saturday June 13th, The firefighters and Athletes celebrated the life of John "Wimpy" Tiefenbach. He was a former firefighter and hockey player in the town of Amherstburg.  According to Brian McGee, John was a great guy and well liked by everybody.

John started the Volleyball tournament over 25 years ago and it is still going strong. Some of the proceeds from the Volleyball tournament and the "toss a toonie and take a coolie" were donated to the Miracle League.

It was great to have some of the firefighters join us on the Miracle League diamond and to have Sparky hang out with Hunter sharing some dance moves and spending time with the players.
