Amherstburg Bank Of Montreal Supports Miracle League with Fundraiser

The Bank of Montreal on the corner of Richmond and Dalhousie held a hotdog day on Friday, June 20th and the proceeds are going to the Miracle League of Amherstburg. In addition to the monies raised, all the hotdogs, pop and chips that were remaining were donated to Miracle League for our weekly BBQ. And there was quite a bit too! A huge "Thank you" to the staff of BMO and all those who either purchased a hotdog, drink and chips or made a monetary donation.

"The Miracle League has again been fortunate in receiving a generous donation.  Special thanks to the Senior's Men Recreational Soccer Team for their financial support of the Miracle League.  In this picture, we see one of the Players from the soccer league who also happens to be the VERY proud father of Vanessa (one of our amazing athletes with the Diamond Team of the Miracle League)."

It was another beautiful day at the ML diamond on May 31, 2014.  Sunshine and smiles were everywhere thanks to the beautiful weather and our wonderful sponsors from the Libro Credit Union.    Many staff from Libro (Essex Branch) volunteered their time to provide us with a wonderful BBQ, snacks...and amazing cheer leading skills!!  We are very grateful to them for their support of the Miracle League and hope to see them again at the diamond.

Robert Pillon was a well known member of the Amherstburg community. He never let his disability hold him back from leading a full and active life. He made his own contacts with many groups and organizations including the Amherstburg Fire Department, The Knights of Columbus. St, John the Bapitst Church, The Amherstburg Police, The Amherstburg Heroes Athletic Club, Community Living Essex County, St. Bernards Schooll and many many more!

Robert was very involved for many years with the mens baseball team and the mens hockey team. He loved sports, and if he was still alive today we know he would be the first one out at the Miracle Diamond every saturday morning! The Miracle League board of directors agreed that honoring Robert on the wall of memories would be a fitting tribute. Robert passed away 6 years ago, and it is evident that his presence will never be forgotten!
