The Miracle League is delighted to once again have guest Buddy Volunteers from St. Joseph Church in  River Canard.    As part of their Confirmation experience they must, as a family volunteer at an organization.   Over a 4 week period from Sept 20th until Oct. 11, 14 we will be welcoming 4-5 families per week to participate as buddies for our Athletes.  We are thankful to have the extra volunteers during the fall season, as we seem to struggle to have enough volunteers at this time of year.  The Confirmation candidates and their families have done an awesome job on the field.  We hope that their experience as a guest volunteer will lead to their wanting to come back.  A big thanks to Rebecca Bondy from St. Joseph church for all of her work in making this happen.

The Amherstburg Admirals Junior C Hockey Team open up their exhibition season with two home games this weekend. The Wheatley Sharks will be at the Libro Centre Friday night for a 7:00pm puck drop. Sunday the Addys take on defending Great Lakes Champs the Essex 73's Junior C Hockey. Puck drop is also at 7:00pm.
The Admirals are huge supporters of The The Miracle League of Amherstburg. This exhibition season we will be raising money to support this great cause. We will be accepting donations in lieu of ticket sales at both games and on top of that, all proceeds from our 50/50 for both games will be given directly to the Miracle League at their season opener on September 6. Their season opener will be a great day and everyone should get out and see these amazing athletes play and have a blast. Make a weekend out of it and head back to the Libro Centre on Sunday September 7th when the Admirals start their quest to the top of the great lakes ladder against a familiar yet new face. The new look Lakeshore Canadiens Jr. C Hockey Club will be in town for our home opener. Like all Admirals Sunday games this season, it will be 7:00pm puck drop. Support your town! Support your team!

Sunshine and smiles were everywhere on June 21, 2014.  We had perfect weather and the anticipation of trophy day.  To add to the excitement of the day, the Miracle League received a generous donation of $1,350 from the Unifor Local 2458 in support of the Miracle League.  In addition, they promised support of our upcoming golf tournament on Aug. 16th at Sutton Creek Golf Course.  We have been amazed this season by the incredible generosity of the community at large.  A special thank you to Mike Kisch  who represented the Unifor group at the Miracle League, helped with the cheque presentation and stayed around for the trophies for the players.  It was an all around perfect day.  Emoji

June 21, 2014 marked the end of the spring season for the Miracle League players and also the end of coaching for Team Magic Coach, Marjorie Casey.  After four dedicated years of coaching the Magic Team and support of the Miracle League, Marjorie will be handing over her coaching duties when she moves to Ottawa to be closer to family.  Marjorie has been one of our treasured volunteers...always going above and beyond for her players.  The entire Miracle League family will miss Marjorie very much.  Best wishes to you as you begin the next journey in your life.  We love you!!
