Many thanks to Hockey for Hospice! Your generosity to the Miracle League is greatly appreciated. The tents are magnificent and truly are a wonderful welcome to the Miracle Field. Special thanks also to the many players who gathered pledges in support of Hockey for Hospice!

Emma Carosella and Jake Simone of Anderdon Public School attended the University of

Windsor Social Justice Forum and took a challenge posed by the University to raise money for a

community program. The two students took the challenge to heart and organized a Twooney drive

to raise funds for the Amherstburg Miracle League. During an assembly one of the videos on our

website was presented to the student body and Emma and Jake asked for each of the students to

contribute one twooney. Money was collected for one week and on Satudary, May 5, 2013 Michelle

Vigneux of Amherstburg Miracle League accepted a cheque from Emma in the sum of $800.00

during the 2:30 game. Congratulations to Emma and Jake on a successful fundraiser.

On March 7, 2013 Stompin Tom Connors a proud Canadian and the singer of the Canada Day Song that we start each of our baseball games with passed away.  He left the following letter for us fellow Canadians.

"Hello friends,

I want all my fans, past, present, or future, to know that without you, there would have not been any Stompin' Tom.

It was a long hard bumpy road, but this great country kept me inspired with its beauty, character, and spirit, driving me to keep marching on and devoted to sing about its people and places that make Canada the greatest country in the world.

I must now pass the torch, to all of you, to help keep the Maple Leaf flying high, and be the Patriot Canada needs now and in the future.

I humbly thank you all, one last time, for allowing me in your homes, I hope I continue to bring a little bit of cheer into your lives from the work I have done.

Brian Boismier-Essex Windsor EMS

"Brian has been with EMS Services for over 20 years.  He has volunteered his time and effort to the Miracle League in Amherstburg since its inception.  When employed with Amherstburg, Anderdon and Malden Volunteer Ambulance and through to his current employer, Essex Windsor EMS, Brian has ensured that paramedics volunteer for the Miracle League.  This provides medical coverage to a non-profit organization that serves everyone.

Miracle League is an organization that allows children with disabilties to experience sport and activities that others enjoy without effort or barrier.  Brian's devotion to this well-deserved organization has allowed the participants, organizers, families and friends to feel safe and secure during a game of baseball.

The Miracle League is committed to having everyone enjoy sport, no matter what the ability level and Brian's commitment over the years has truly heightened awareness of both paramedics and those involved in the leagues.  Brian has made a difference in the lives and league of those involved.

We are please to present the 2013, 911 Community Service Award for EMS services to Brian Boismier."

On January 25, 2013, the BCNSA University of Windsor student group worked their magic to host a wonderful fund raiser for the Miracle League.  Over 200 students attended this evening to lend their financial support to the Miracle League.  It truly was an amazing event to be a part of and so inspiring to see young adults invested in their community.  A HUGE thank you goes out to this group for their generosity and for choosing the Miracle League as their group to support this year. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
